Free studentship
not exceeding 12% of the total strength of the College are
permissible and granted to students every year on merit
cum poverty basis.

A number of aids
are made available to students from the Social Service Guild
each year for a period of nine months. Such monetary help
does not usually exceed the monthly tuition fee of a student.
The basis of aid is determined by the Social Service Guide of
the college.

The Trust Fund
Committee grants aids to deserving candidates who are permanent
residents of the district of Sambalpur for a period of nine
months in a year. The amount of aid does not ordinarily
exceed the monthly tuition fee of a candidate. Beside, the Trust
Fund Committee also grants certain numb4r of stipends to
deserving students prosecuting their studies in technical and
scientific subjects in institutions other than G.M. College.

Every year the
Ministry of Education, Government of India, awards some merit
scholarships for post matriculation studies including technical
or professional education on the results of the High School
Certificate Examinations. Students obtaining a first
division or 60 % marks in the aggregate where no division are
awarded are qualified to apply for the scholarships. It should
be submitted in the prescribed form through the Principal. The
amount of these scholarships varies from Rs. 50/- to Rs.
100/- per month.

All students
belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes are exempted
from paying the tuition fee. Admission fee and Seat rent in the
hostel. They are entitled to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled
Tribes Scholarships granted by the Ministry of Education,
Government of India. Application in the prescribed form should
be made to the authorities concerned through the Principal.

A limited number
of scholarships are granted by the Ministry of Education,
Government of India to students belonging to the Backward
Classes. Deserving students may apply in the prescribed form
through the Principal.

Besides, the usual
senior college scholarships, The Government of Orissa awards
a number of scholarships on merit cum poverty basis.

8. |
Every year the
Ministry of Education, Government of India, grants scholarships
to students offering Hindi as an elective subject provided that
their mother tongue is not Hindi. The amount of scholarships
varies between Rs. 50/- per month & Rs. 75/- per month.
Applications may be submitted through the Principal in the
prescribed form for this purpose.

Stipends of
varying amounts are awarded to science students throughout their
career beginning with the +3 First year class upto the
attainment of research degree on the basis of results of an all
India competitive examinations known as Science Talent Search
Scheme. +2 Science students are eligible for the award.

All scholarships
and aids are granted on the basis of satisfactory conduct and
diligent studies.
|

11. |
Scholarship holder
should not absent themselves from the class without leave
otherwise their scholarship will be subject to reduction
according to rules.

Students who wish
to be considered for financial assistance like Free Studentship
& help from the S.S.G. should register their names in the
prescribed form available from the College Office, furnishing
particulars regarding financial conditions of their parents, the
number of school and college going children in the family,
history of previous aids received etc. A notice inviting
students to register their names will be issued by the
Principal.
